Ghost Rider. Excellent story line and some great special effects. Excellent bad guys. But Nicholas Cage’s acting left much to be desired and some of the dialogue was too hokey for words.
-
Van Helsing. This one made me mad. I really, really wanted to like this movie. I mean…vampires…werewolves… hello! Right up my alley. But it just didn’t work for me.
-
Anaconda. The previews of this when it first came out looked pretty interesting. But although it’s not something I’ll avoid watching at all costs… it was still just…meh.
-
The Truman Show-this one wasn’t bad all in all, I just think it could have been a heck of a lot better. However, it was one of the first Carrey movies that didn’t make me screech when it came on.
-
Gone in 60 Seconds. Okay, I admit it. I don’t really like Nicholas Cage but he keeps showing up in movies that COULD have been good. Maybe if they’d recast him…
-
Mr & Mrs Smith I’m not an Angelina fan either, but that’s not why I didn’t like this one. It had an interesting premise, but the fact that these two were basically killers and eh, yeah, they could kill their spouse…nope, didn’t work for me.
-
Men In Black As much as I dislike Cage and Jolie, I like Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Together? This movie should have blown me away. Even if the idea was a little beyond far fetched. But I just couldn’t get into it. I think the DH and I spent the entire movie making out…
-
In the Army Now I liked some of Pauly Shore’s movies. Encino Man was one of them. But the Army thing just didn’t do anything. It was corny and not really that funny. If you’re going to see Pauly Shore, you expect to laugh. Not with this one.
-
The Fifth Element I wanted to love this movie. Really, really wanted to love it. I like Bruce Willis, I love sci fi. This one? Saw it once, couldn’t care less if I ever saw it again.
-
Darkness Yet another movie that looked wonderful in previews but in the theater? Not so much. I should have listened to the DH when he said lets see something else…
-
Leprechaun First off, Warwick Davis just shouldn’t play the bad guy. I mean, seriously. He was Willow! Like many horror flicks, had a good premise. Fell flat on the carry thru though.
-
What Lies Beneath You know…I was enjoying this one until Ford turned out to be the bad guy. Come on. Han Solo is a rogue. He’s not a bad guy. That ticked me off so much I couldn’t enjoy the movie.

The Village This one wasn’t a total flop for me. But it didn’t wow me the way Signs or The Sixth Sense did. I loved those two movies. I wanted to love The Village. Unfortunately about 1/4 way into it, I figured out the big plot twist. Figuring it out that early on just kind of ruins the enjoyment. But maybe after Signs I just set my expectations too high. Haven’t seen Lady in the Water yet. Should I or shouldn’t I?
