Naturally, my mind doesn’t work on tangeants so I’m not going to confuse poeople and try to explain how my mind settled on this topic. Suffice it to say that I was reading about husbands, started thinking about mine and I decided to talk about sexy.
What makes a guy sexy? Does it have to be muscles, ripped abs, killer smiler, and being six feet tall or more?
I don’t think so. Yeah, when romance writers create their characters we tend to use certain characteristics. Some of it does seem to be required…I had a hero one who was 5’7 and an editor didn’t like it. I didn’t change it, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t try.
All the guys in the romance books tend to be larger than life, so intense, and yeah, they are sexy. But if I had to pick between any hero in a book, and the man in my life? My husband is going to win every time. No, he doesn’t have ripped abs, but he’s got greast shoulders and I love his arms. He isn’t six feet tall, but I don’t care. He fits against me perfectly. Killer smile? Absolutely. He’s got great hands. He’s wonderful in bed.
All plusses, but the things that makes him so sexy to me? He adores me. He adores our kids. He’s the greatest dad on earth, and the only man for me. He’s got a quirky sense of humor, he only talks when he has something to say and he doesn’t see the sense in trying to put on a show for others. He is who he is. To me…that is what makes him so damned sexy, and perfect, for me.
