I got an email from my editor and my editor Friday. I’ve gotten the okay to proceed with my current book.
About six weeks ago, give or take, I sent in a proposal to my editor at Berkley. For the readers, a proposal is pretty much what it sounds like~it’s an idea about a book I’d like to write. Editors usually want to see about three chapters, although it can vary. Then they want a synopsis, which is pretty much just a rundown of what’s going to happen in the book.
I suck at the synopsis part. I’m starting to plot out before I got, but it’s still a work in progress for me.
This book is not entirely different for me, but it is different from what I’ve written for Berkley before. It’s a paranormal romance, but it doesn’t have any vamps, any real magick, any weres or ghosts. Contains that one thing that I think could be possible in real life~psychics. I’ve written one or two about psychics before and I do like doing them. I get very bored writing in the same genre, even the ones I really love.
So I’ve gotten the go ahead. Which is good, because the book is probably only another 50-100 pages from being done. Weeeelllll past that half way mark. I’d have been so depressed if she said no….
This is one of the books I’ve been working on for the 70 days of sweat challenge. I started with about 10K, give or take, when I first joined the challenge and no I’m pushing close to 80K. And I’m going to finish well ahead of schedule too… which means I can take some time off during the holidays. ;o)
