It’s less than pleasant, but it’s a sad fact of life.  There are some seriously sick people in the world.  I always used to worry there would be no way of knowing if some the deviants in the world moved into the house across the street from my kids.

Then I discovered this website. Family Watchdog works to keep track of registered sex offenders and you can sign up for their notification service.  It is free, however they also take donations to help maintain the site.  I send them money from time to time because as a parent, I think it’s a valuable service. 

I’ve actually heard comments from some people they it’s a violation of a person’s privacy to have a website like this… but ya know what?  You rape a woman, molest a child, batter your significant other… you don’t deserve privacy.  We deserve safety.
