😉 Pray for me.
I’m getting ready to start that insane task of Christmas shopping.
My oldest is getting to that ‘too big’ for toys stage, but she’s not quite a teen (thank God) yet so she’s going to be hard to buy for. Think maybe an MP3 player or something. Dunno yet.
I do have ideas for the DH, the monster and the baby bratlet…it’s the bratlet herself that will be the issue this year.
Another gift I plan on giving this year is going to be to a complete stranger. I received a catalog (along with like… ten others) one day last week, but this one was a different. It wasn’t filled with shiny jewelry (although I do love that shine) and it wasn’t filled with toys. It had farm animals. Water wells. Backpacks. The catalog came from World Vision and you could donate money that would buy farm animals for impoverished families in India, backpacks for kids in America that live below the poverty line and can’t afford decent school supplies, or medicines for children in Africa.
I’m big on trying to give back. I’ve had a lot of blessings in my life and my career is just one of many. My kids, my husband, being born into a country where I’m able to go to church, where I can get healthcare, where I don’t risk sickness just by drinking water, where I can get an education… it’s startling how many females in the world can’t even get an education~just because they have a vagina instead of a penis. I love my kids equally and I can’t fathom loving one less because of their gender.
So in addition to my mad Christmas shopping, I’m going to buy some chickens this week. And if I can, in a few more weeks, some farming equipment.
Man, can you all believe the holidays are here?
