So Jane over at Dear Author tugged on the cords of my conscience and I feel the need to make my opinion on something clear, even if I don’t feel it will affect anything.

There’s a scandal going on now regarding plagiarism, a popular author plagiarized a substantial amount of information.

Plagiarism is wrong. End of sentence. Taking somebody else’s words and trying to pass them off as your own is wrong. It doesn’t matter if a writer has a deadline, a lot of stress, family illnesses, etc. If you can’t be original and use your own words, your thoughts to tell a story, then you shouldn’t be telling the story.
