Went and saw this on Thursday with the bratlet. She’s turning 9 on Saturday and this was a birthday mama/daughter thing.

I’ve gotta say, I loved it and I didn’t think I’d like it that much. Yes, it’s fantasy, but still…I didn’t think I’d like it that much. I love fantasy so I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting to just enjoy it a little.

Fantastic movie. The special effects were wonderful. The sister in it, Malory, I think, shown serious butt-kicking potential once she grows up. The boys were funny, but I do think the sister was the best character in it.

I’d definitely recommend it.

Plot:

Upon moving into the run-down Spiderwick Estate with their mother, twin brothers Jared and Simon Grace, along with their sister Mallory, find themselves pulled into an alternate world full of faeries and other creatures.
