From my friend Kelley… some soldiers who don’t get mail

Sounds like they don’t get mail at all.  :O/

Got this small list from a captain who says these soldiers do not get mail.  I told him I would help spread the word.

I would send cards or letters, add your email address, if these soldiers email or write back then invest in follow up box or package.  (unless you don’t mind if they don’t write back)

UTA: When sending cards/letters, just take a name and put with the two lines I put in underlined text.

Please note… at this time, this is all the info I have, and all the info Kelley has.  If you do hear back and want to send packages, please refer to this page which includes info on what to send and what can’t be sent.

And because I’ve been asked before, please note that the information I get comes from Kelley who works directly either through an SOS unit or, in many cases, gets the info straight from Marines or soldiers who are currently stationed out of the country.  The info is about as up to date as in can get…coming straight from the…um… Marine/soldier’s mouth, so to speak.

  1. This is awesome! As an Army brat, Navy sister and Marine wife, I definitely support the troops. I volunteer occasionally (when I have the time)at the Dallas USO.

    I’d be happy to send letters and even care packages overseas to some soldiers!

  4. Thanks for posting this. My son returned from Afg. in early Dec after a 7 month tour. He said there were a lot of fellow Marines who didn’t get any mail or packages. Breaks a mother’s heart.

    I do not think these brave and wonderful soldiers mind making a new friend. Kind of like a pen-pal type of thing. While I’m not in the military, I’m sure they love hearing from people and are grateful for our kind words and thoughts. As Kelley stated in her message to Shiloh, she recommends just starting with a letter or a card and if you’re comfortable with it, giving them an email addy so they can correspond back with you if they wish.   9. Thank you Shiloh! My three kids and I have been doing small projects with their elementary school through the AdoptAPlatoon organization off and on the last few years. We are currently in talks with the school to do a Spring collection. Hopefully we can add these names to our list! If you get any more please let us know. I also shared this on my fb and twtr pages.
